A favorite on the farm, there’s nowhere this amaranth can’t be used. Beautiful, vibrant colors when fresh, but just as lovely when dried. Great alone or mixed into arrangement. Also good for wreaths, crafts, garlands, and as a grain.

Days to maturity: 65-75

DAYS TO GERMINATION:7-10 days at 70-75°F (21-24°C)

SOWING:Transplant - Sow 4-6 weeks before planting out. Grow at 62-65°F (17-18°C) until transplanting out. Direct seed - After danger of frost. Support advised.

LIGHT PREFERENCE:Sun.

PLANT HEIGHT:Varies Providing support is advised.

PLANT SPACING:12-15". For upright, plume types, thinner and more manageable stems can be achieved using a tighter spacing of 3-6".

HARDINESS ZONES:Annual.

VASE LIFE:7-10 days.

HARVEST:Fresh - When at least 3/4 of the flowers on the inflorescence are open.
Dried - Seed has begun to set and flowers feel firm.

Drying - Stand up trailing varieties in a bucket or any tall container to maintain draped appearance. Hang upright varieties to dry.

SOIL:
Well-drained soil. pH: 6-7 preferred.

USES:
Fresh or dried cut flower, back of bed, accent in borders, containers.
